1) Write a list with two columns.

In one column write down WHY you want to quit porn (What benefits will you receive when you stop watching ponography ?) 

In the second column you write down what your life will look like 5 years from now if you do not stop using porn.

2) Identify and WRITE DOWN every trigger that makes you relapse.

This is very important. Do NOT skip this step!

3) Be aware of your triggers….and then forget them!

(*This is the key to solving the puzzle and the reason so many are struggling with this is because it is a paradox, see the next point to understand)

4) Find your definite major purpose

and then keep all of your focus on that instead of thinking about how to AVOID and how to quit porn.

(This is the most important one of all the pointers)

5) Use a cognitive enhancer, nootropic supplement

 To help your brain with the self control aspect. *this one is optional but can be very helpful

You might have heard all the above advices  on how to quit porn before but please read this because what is missing is the right mindset. Without it, you will fail. The advices are good but they are NOT ENOUGH in and of themselves. We need to get EVERY PART of our brain to understand them, we have got to get the brain to really “click”, as I call it.

I want you to REALLY think about what you are reading and not just brush it of with a “yeah yeah, I’ve heard it all before attitude”. Really give it a lot of thought and read it several times.

Ok, Good!  So here we go:

You must know exactly why you want to quit porn. It is not enough to just start half assing it. You also need to write it down in order for it to better get into every part of your brain.

So write it down and read it several times in a row!

If someone wakes you up in the middle of the night asking you exactly why you want to stop watching pornography you should be able to without hesitation give the EXACT answer.

It is the foundation in overcoming any bad habit/addiction. We need to know the why and the why not because when the reptilian part of the brain starts to take over and the prefrontal cortex, (our control center), in the brain shuts down we start drifting into “autopilot mode”.

And without a SUPER strong “why?” and “why not?”, ingrained into our subconscious mind, we have 0% chance of avoiding a relapse. We just go into “follow mode”, letting the autopilot drag us along like a person without will or choice.

After all, we do not suddenly drive over to the opposite side of the road, into oncoming traffic, even if we were to get such an impulse or thought suggestion one brain foggy day do we?

Nope!…

…and the reason why we do not is because we have a strong enough  “why not” imprinted into our subconscious mind.

Step 2)

There are probably many triggers that starts the whole relapse process for you and you must identify them all…

…this is precisely because of the autopilot reason we just talked about.

If you are not even aware of them it is so much easier to fall when presented with a sudden trigger. Just like with the first advice, this one also needs to be written down and imprinted into your brain.

Step 3)

The first two pointers are the “home work”, if you will, something that just has to be done before we can actually start overcoming the addiction.

Now in step number three the actual “art” of overcoming addiction begins and this is where we start to add the puzzle pieces together.           

The reason why so many struggle with how to stop watching porn is because this is somewhat of a paradox:

We need to be aware of our triggers yet, if you look at point number four, it says:  “do not think about quitting porn” and  do not think about how to avoid porn…

Here’s the deal: (keep reading, you are doing good!)

…you see, what we keep our focus on grows and becomes more and more part of our lives. That is a fact and a natural law as true as gravity. This is of course the reason why we must stop thinking about avoiding porn all the time and instead shift our focus to our goals instead.

This is yet another reason why we MUST imprint the “why?”, “why not” and the “triggers” into our brain in order for us not to have to walk around thinking about them (focusing on them)….

…they are just there, imprinted in our brains so that we don’t have to give them any thoughts whatsoever and we can instead shift all of our focus on our purpose in life instead.

“Find your definite major purpose”
Step 4)

You probably heard the advice “fill the void” many times already. It’s a good advice and we should fill the void that is left after after quitting an addiction. We MUST fill the hole but…

…the advice “fill the void” is not enough

…you see the problem is that it’s not specific and exciting enough. If we always try to fill it with exercise, meditation, cleaning the house we will soon fail as those (even if they are good things we should be doing) pale in comparison to the massive dopamine hit we got from the addiction itself.

Now I’m NOT saying we have to find something that spikes our neurotransmitters as much as the addiction but what I AM saying is that we must find a BIG goal that excites us. A definite major goal…

…and this is where so many struggle, because the words…

  • major goal
  • definite major purpose
  • life vision

…somehow got a way of giving us some kind of “goal setting performance anxiety” making us freeze and we can’t come up with anything at all…

…only to make us feel even more like there are something seriously wrong with us.

But those words do not have to be be scary at all and here is how I personally solved it:

Instead of asking “what could be a major goal for me”? ask yourself: “What would my ideal day look like”?

NOW we are talking! This is much more easy to visualize and you know what the coolest part about it is?

IF you shift all of your focus on how to  achieve that life in which you can have as many of those “ideal days” as you want, the chances of it becoming a reality is very realistic indeed.

And perhaps sooner than you can imagine!

There are always  ways to make, at least some of it, come true.

This gives us much more drive, dopamine AND:

-What do you think happens with all your drive and energy if you manage to shift your focus and behaviors AWAY from porn addiction and instead transmutate and CHANNEL the most powerful of all energies in the human body (the sexual energy) towards that ONE single focused goal?-

That’s right:

Your desire for porn will soon pale naturally as you, day by day, now are focused and driven by the question “how can I get 1% closer to my goal tomorrow?”  instead of the question “how can I avoid porn tomorrow?” Can you see the difference there?

The ideal day probably looks different for everyone. It might be that you, within a few years want to be able to fire your boss and make money on your own so that you can start your days at 10:30 instead of 5:30…

…and so that you can work from home, being able to watch your children grow up and then taking your wife out for dinner at night and after that going to a movie…

GREAT, That is all VERY realistic and achievable in today’s world.

So start with point 1 on the list in this article and get to it right now! Transmutate that energy, channel it into making your dream come true instead of wasting it into a paper tissue in front of the computer.

Step 5)

First let me remind you that this step is optional and it is in no way necessary for overcoming an addiction. I don’t want you to spend money on something if you are able to stop using porn without it. Now that said…

…when it comes to my personal reboot, and how I managed to drastically reduce my relapse to porn, it wasn’t until I started using the brain enchancer that the puzzle pieces fell in place for me. I relapced to porn almost every to once every second week for a long time…

…AND THEN…

…the first time I tried the “Brain pill enchancer” I managed to go 126 days without a relapse and you know what? I relapsed when I had run out of the pills…

…five days after they run out. Today I eat them perhaps 4-5 days out of 7 and I’m doing very well. It’s so easy to focus on my definite major purpose instead of wasting my life force in fron of the laptop, watching OTHER men banging chicks.
